Foundation Skills Management Programme

Overview

  • A flexible accredited programme delivering 6 foundation management modules which include linked/in-session assessment plus online induction
  • Each module is 2.5 hours with one follow-up/group coaching session provided at the end of the Programme
  • Delegates will receive a Certificate of Achievement (Institute of Leadership Approved Programme) plus digital credentials on successful completion of the programme
  • Each delegate will also receive 1-year membership with monthly Edge Magazine plus an automatic route to Professional Membership
  • Potential to progress to Advanced Management Skills Programme.

Aim of the Programme

  • To provide foundation management skills, support and coaching for those individuals who have some people management responsibilities but no formal training or for those individuals who are new to team leading/management and looking to develop their management abilities

Core and Elective Modules

  • Learners will attend four core modules to include:
    • Understanding leadership styles
    • Leading and motivating a team
    • Handling difficult situations and conversations effectively
    • Developing teams and individuals
  • Learners/Organisational Sponsor will select two elective modules from the following:
    • Establishing an effective Team
    • Understanding networking and negotiation
    • The art of effective delegation
    • Giving effective feedback

How the Programme is Delivered

 

Induction An introduction to the Foundation Skills Management Programme

Includes delegate need assessment, learning style preference, overview of the programme, policies, questions, and answers

Tutor led training sessions 6 modules delivered across a 6-to-12-month period.

Delegates will receive a workbook, handouts/activities, and a slide deck.

Reflective review/quizzes and in-session assessment will be included

Delegates will be expected to reflect after each session

Final Group Coaching session End of programme group coaching session to highlight achievements, lessons learnt, next steps (to include goal setting and potential options)
